Joe,
If you fitted the loop frame timing cover to the Tonti engine, you would
then also have to convert it to generator. Here are some pictures of a bike
that has a later engine in a loop frame. It was converted to use the
generator also.

Sure would like to get a few more details about the forward engine mount on
a Tonti framed engine not matching up with a Loop frame's mount. I'm looking
at a pic of a V7 Sport right now and it apears that the front mounting bolt
passes through the engine's timing cover. If the Loop frame timing cover
were fitted to the Tonti engine, wouldn't the front engine mount line up in
the loop frame?
Sorry I didn't run into any of you guys at VMD. I did find the Guzzi
Club tent and relaxed in the shade with a cool drink and home made cookies.
Next year I'll be more prepared-this was my first time and was somewhat
delerious due to sensory overload!
