The bodywork came in from Moto Guzzi Classics on Friday and I must say that it is absolutley impeccable. Ata' boy Mark! Although I had wanted to have the bike completed on Sunday, the last of the wiring took longer than anticipated. That and a few other last minute changes pushed me well into the late hours of Monday evening, too late to fire the old gal up and rouse the neighbors. I walked down to the corner gas station and got two gallons of premium, brought it home, and went to bed eagerly anticipating the joys this morning would bring. So, here she is, christened "Cedar" in her current incarnation. Rescued from over twenty years of neglect and the effects of too much "billybobism"! Although I still have a few things to do as soon as the transfers show up from CA, the bike is basically complete. I put about fifty miles on her today and am amazed at how smoothly she handles, no comparison to my V-50 with its lighter weight and higher center of gravity. http://members.home.net/kk8m/guzzi/images/Cedar-1 http://members.home.net/kk8m/guzzi/images/Cedar-2 http://members.home.net/kk8m/guzzi/images/Cedar-3 Tomorrow it's off to a friends art studio/metal fab shop to make up a luggage rack. With luck, Gary Cheek, his Eldo, Cedar and I will be off to Ontario on Friday to attend the Guzzi rally there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be no "hiccups" in her behavior between now and then. I will say that these loops take some getting used to in the sound department. So many interesting noises, reminding me of some power equipment that I have owned over the years. Oh, I did quiet the fishtails down with a couple of baffles picked up at Mid-Ohio for a buck each. Now she sounds more like Gary's stock Eldo as opposed to an obnoxious Hawg. At last, my turn to put down the wrenches and ride. It's been a long seven months.
