To drill stainless you need some type of coolant/lubricant. I use
something called Anchorlube, which you'll never find since a friend of
mine makes it and sells to the aerospace industry. For a small hole you
need a couple of drops and you're on your way. I'm sure you could find
a similar product where they sell machine shop supplies.

As a fix I hacked a pair of brackets out of SS but when it came time to drill the appropriate holes my drillbit(s) went up in smoke and melted. What is the right way to drill stainless? Dumbfounded Dave in NYC |
