My vintage magazine centerfold ad shows an Eldo with a lighter engine case
than tranny...I'd say they're slightly different alloys.

I just cleaned my Eldo engine and transmission. Used the same exact
cleaner at the same time on both. Engine cases/cylinders are much lighter
than the transmission. Both are very clean, but I just noticed the
difference in color. Is this normal? I thought maybe the alloys were a
little different. I used an aluminum cleaner, but did not leave it on
longer on one than the other.
Any ideas?
