This is the home stretch, I am putting together the last pieces of the puzzle. Todays question is plug wires. Can I use whatever fits or is there something like resistance that I should pay attention to? If resistance is important (Or is it futile?) how do I measure it with my trusty multimeter? You should use copper core wire and NGK caps as Dave O. suggested.
This type of wire is generally called Packard 440 or its equivalent, and
offers no resistance. The NGK caps are important because they provide
5000 ohms of resistance which is essential since lack of resistance,
while preferable when it concerns women, has an adverse affect on the
coil life in your bike.
For grins when you get the plug caps you can set your multimeter to
measure resistance (usually that upside down 'U' symbol with the little
feet-apologies for being simplistic) and poke the probes into both ends
of them. Your trusty multimeter should say "Hey man, there's 5000 ohms
of resistance here!"
