Thanks Lou!

To all the good members of Loopframe, Hello! I'm the one who recently
purchased Lou's 1974 Eldo that was advertised a few weeks back here. A
friend of mine saw it on the list and forwarded the contact information
to me (I had never even heard of the list, though I was a frequent
visitor to David Otis's loopframe site).

I quickly wrote Lou 3 or 4 emails saying that I was greatly interested
in his bike (having been looking for a nice example of an Eldo to kick
off my passion for them for the past 12 months). Then I went to this
list and saw that Lou might have changed his mind (some of you guys
asked him to think twice since it was such a hard model to find..and he
might regret it later on...and I thought that was pretty great, that a
community of Guzzi lovers would remind someone how great Guzzi's were
that they should not be sold off quickly).

Once I read those postings, I understood and said to myself, "Well, back
to the classifieds. Lou's gonna keep this baby." But lo and behold, a
week later, Lou calls up and offers me the bike! He was a straight
shooter, saying that I was in deed the first to reply and so I would get
the first shot (though he had other offers and could have easily asked
for more money since the demand was there). Needless to say, a few
conversations later I bought the bike from Lou!

It is true what they say, Guzzi owners are the nicest around. (This was
heightened by my recent run in with two other Guzzi owners while wearing
my newly purchased Moto Guzzi t-shirt around town. We talked for about
an hour about Eldo's and our love of them).

Anyway, I'm new to Guzzi's - I'm a young whipper snapper at 31 years old
: ) - but have loved them since I saw my first Eldo up close 5 years
ago! I look forward to meeting other Guzzi lovers here in Northern
California...and to talking to you guys on this list (Mark @ Moto Guzzi
Classics....I'm sure you'll be getting a call from me soon!).

And of course, thanks to Steve Rivet in Virginia who actually helped me
find this bike (I just missed out on buying his Eldo by hours....but he
helped me anyway for weeks, answering all forms of questions and
checking out potential buys that I had found. He is a true example of a
good guy!...and Guzzi lover!). I hope he can handle only having two
instead of 3 Guzzi's now.

Take care and happy motoring!
