A Stant model G-729 gas cap will fit an eldo/ambo civillian (don't know
about police tho') tank in a pinch...or as a temporary while you are
repairing the original gas cap (as I am). Fits ok out of the box, but with
a small mod (making the tabs that hold it on longer with a dremel cutoff
wheel...if ya get one, you'll see what I'm talking about), it fits real
good. Also ya have to drill a hole in it for venting purposes. You won't
find this at AutoPepZoneAdvanceBoys auto parts. Check small parts shops
that cater to foreign cars (Fiats and Lancia especially). Mine was $5 plus
tax and works wonderfully.
