Shifting Questions
Except for an odd shifting issue and that odd hand only tan, today was a
great first long ride on the 69 ambo (I won't mention forgetting the shift
pattern is reverse of what I'm use to). I rode over to Sears Point to
watch a little bit of the super bike races and then headed down the 1 to
San Francisco. I'm going to have to learn to slow down a bit on the
curves as I went into a couple of the corners a little hot. I didn't
really risk going off the road but the LAPD saddlebag rack scraped the
hard stuff (Yes I'm an Idiot). Loops don't seem to turn as well as the
/5s but that's not why I bought the bike. I can already tell this is
going to be my favorite motorcycle.
The problem I experienced was difficulty down shifting into first gear.
Some times I would have to shift up to 3rd and then back to first. Is this
indicative of a miss-aligned detent or is it something more complex? My
lawn is hoping that it is an expensive problem with lots of shop time but
I keep telling it to not get it's hopes up.
Well thanks in advance,
-69 Ambo
