There has been talk of thread repair on the Laverda list and I thought that
y'all might like to see this website as well:

I have used these things a zillion times, mostly to fix stripped Guzzi
rocker cover threads. They beat the pants off a helicoil. Downside: not
cheap. Upside: very permanent.
