It's common to Vtwins. Every one I have ever encountered would occasionally
bark like that. My '99 VTR does it. '76 Guzzi does it and I assume my 71
ambo will as well.
The situation that seems the most common to me is when you transit from
engine braking to acceleration. i.e yer following a car. The car slows and
so you roll off the throttle and the engine slows the bike. But then things
clear and so youroll back on the throttle, and occasionally when doin this
it will cough, then catch.
