Tom,
What you are describing here is about acurate on what I am getting the
clutch in I can feel the noise through the lever, and once moving no noise.
Guess I am not gonna be riding for awhile now, gonna be a couple of months
before I can tear it down. I am getting ready to move really don't want
parts everywhere before packing.

The V-700 probably has the old style caged ball bearing, which if it lets loose will make all kinds of noise, especially if you happen to be squeezing the clutch lever thus helping to grind it to bits.
