Rich,

I used assembly lube on all the internal moving parts when I was
reassembling my bike. Some people say not to put anything in the cylinders
so that the rings will be allowed to scuff in the cylinders. The way I see
it they will get enough "scuffing" over the years so I went ahead and lubed
the bores.

On the torquing....I torqued once when I was reassembling the engine. Have
ridden 400 miles and have been keeping an eye on the valve clearances. So
far the clearances have been good and no oil leaks. With the talk that was
going on a while ago about the heads starting to leak oil after a re torque
(due to the o rings getting screwed up) I am thinking that I might not
bother to re torque the heads.

Are there any risks if I don't re torque?

Regards...Ian

 ============================================================

I need the group's general consensus. I hope to get the newly
cleaned up heads back on my Ambo this weekend. Anyone with thoughts on what
should or should not be used on any part of the reassemble? Loctite on the
rocker supports and pin bolts? Anti-seize the sparkplugs and exhaust nuts?
A
drop of oil for lubrication on the head nuts prior to torqueing? Torque
again overnight prior to putting the rocker supports back on? Cylinders
should go back on pistons dry or a little oil?

Thanks,
Rich
