It hurts to see such stupidity. I will try to put a positive spin on this
and tell you guys about a true story involving, motors, oil, an Eldorado and
plenty of stupidity.
We are playing cards in a college dorm
Saturday afternoon
our local pothead comes in and asks "How many qts of oil should an engine
take?" "This is the first time I am changing oil in my car"
we said around 4-5 qts should do it.
He said he put in 7 qts and its not showing on the dipstick.
This definitely got our interest and was worth stopping the card game for.
We confirmed the dipstick was dry.
There was no puddle under the car. Very mysterious indeed.
"where exactly are you putting the oil?"
He pointed at the automatic trans filler tube.
Aha! Case closed!
The automatic transmission now had 7 qts of engine oil in addition to its
ATF.
We were amazed it had room for so much liquid.
We told him to get this thing towed to a garage to straighten out the fluids
properly.
BY the way, the victim of his crime was a mid 50's Cadillac Eldorado. Faded
pink with gold trim. ( I am not making this up)

I have a sad story to tell. A local guy here spun a bearing in his eldo engine and I helped him remove the engine and then get the crank sent off for repairs. He kept eying a spare engine that I have and asked to buy it. "NO, it's my spare". Well, after alot of begging, I finally relented and let him use the motor(and tranny) A couple days ago he called and asked how much oil the crankcase holds, cause he just put in 3quarts and it was about to flow out the top of the fill hole. I told him 3quarts, but it should have oil already. Well, he drained out 3qts of oil but never checked the level. We finished putting the bike together yesterday and after some adjustments got it going really nicely. So we start home. About two miles down the road, the engine starts banging. He shuts it down and coasts to a stop. The header pipes are black. Engine hot as hell. I check the oil...none... Just a damn shame....Makes me sick...
