Hi All,
I have to agree with Mr Ruff, I like to keep my bikes as original as
possible with little personal touches (like Bill K's Eldo). To me it
maintains the history of the model..and the value. However, after seeing
Andy Hill's green Eldo with pewter frame I have my next Loop's colour scheme
planned :-)
As for performance, I've never tried a wheelie (and I would like to see it
done) but I can say that after my 1500 mile run to the National this summer
my Ambo prooved that it could do the job.....not only the distance but
running at 80 on the I81 for 200 miles. The ol'girl hummed along just fine.
Regards...Ian

It's all a matter of opinion, but I have always liked keeping my bikes stock with only a few upgrades, i.e., mufflers and K&N's. Even for a 750 Ambo, I think my bike has plenty of power, enough to wheelie in 2nd gear. Don't think I need too much more than that, havt to weigh expense versus benefits and detriments, plus potential value of the bike being stock versus modified. Keith Ruff 71 Police Amabassador - NJ |
