Kieth you will find if ya have the original springs, one will be a right
hand twist and the other should be wound to the left. If so guard them with
your life for nobody winds springs to the left. Why Guzzi did them that way
beats me, but parts are very rare indeed, besides mine I have only seen one
other Guzzi in So Cal. in 10yrs. with correct springs and brackets.

Subject: Need a Set of Solo Seat "Cups"

 All,

Anybody have or know of somebody who has a set of the solo springer seat
"cups" for a 71 Ambo? Found out this weekend why my original 71 police
Ambo seat sits so high up and looks awkward. Previous owner must have
taken the seat and cups off of the bike and never re-installed them. He
simply bolted the springs into the frame holes where the front of the
cups mount (on the dual seat, where the 2 front bolts attach to the
frame above the battery). David Otis had one, but need a set. For
those of you whom are confused with what these "cups" are, they are
nothing more than rectangular shaped brackets with a bottom base that
mount to the shock bolt and frame hole above the battery (as described
above). The springs of the seat then sit into this bracket, and from
what I understand, the springs bolt to this bracket. Any help/info is
greatly appreciated.

Thanx,
