Hi Luap,
I thought that it might be possible to take the fork lowers off without
pulling the whole fork assembly but I realized that you couldn't do that.
The big pain (aside from taking the fork assembly off) is getting enough
force on the lowers to unthread them. I used a big strap and had another
person hold them while I wrenched away. If you use thread locker when you
rethread the lowers on I think it will make them easier to take them off the
next time.
Once the lowers are off the seals are easy to replace.
Let me know how you make out and if there are any tricks you learn. I will
be doing a friend's in the next little while and can always use the advice.
