I had same problem. Got local industrial rubber supplier to cut out new
gaskets from 1.5/2.0mm Viton with their punches. Been on 5 years, no leaks.

Subject: Gas Cap help please
First it (my ambassador's gas cap, the lever on top kind) was not venting properly and would start stalling after a while until I took the |
apart and cleaned out the vent holes. Now if I fill it up even close to |
top of the tank it leaks onto the tank while splashing around and takes |
wax off with it. I noticed that the rubber gasket was not in that great of shape while cleaning the vent holes. Has anyone made new ones of these? I can get a sheet of rubber gasket material from my local hardware store and cut out a new one but don't know how it will hold up to the gas. Any tips |
suggestions from the group? Thanks, Richard Zink ITD Tech Services 510-271-5134 ___________________________________________________________ T O P I C Ahttp://www.topica.com/t/17 Newsletters, Tips and Discussions on Your Favorite Topics |
