Subject: confessions of a Guzzi addict
It started years ago when my dad bought a police Eldo at the Highway Dept surplus sale. Like a dirty magasine, I'd take it out to enjoy when dad wasn't home. He sold the bike, but I was smitten. I found one for myself just a few months later. I didn't realize it it, but I was already addicted. Now, I eat, drink and sleep "Moto Guzzi". I MUST have anything and everything that relates to "Moto Guzzi"s. Now, my insaishable(sp) desire(need) for these things has gotten out of control! I can't pass up a yard sale without thinking,'I know that's the one with the Guzzi for sale". I must drive by and check it for guzzis. Saturday, I saw a Guzzi parked infront of a pickup truck at the head of a driveway. I left a note asking if it was 'for sale'. I needed this bike! No, I had to have this bike!! Well, now I have this bike!!! A late '73 police Eldo. Chrome fenders! Floorboards! Extra lights!!! Oh, I feel GOOD. Now I just gotta make room for it! Where to put it?? What to eat(or not eat) as I stare at it and clean it up a little. What to tell the electric co. when they ask where my payment is.? Oh well. I have a fireplace, so at least I can stay warm... So now I have THREE Eldos and a G-5. Is there a cure? Do I want to be cured?? Why am I at work instead of slobbering all over my newest Guzzi???? Oh, I pick it up Sat. One week from the first time I spied her.
