Could be a warped intermediate plate, but I don't know why it would only
happen when it gets hot.

Subject: Balky Eldo clutch
Lately I've been having a spot o' trouble with the clutch on the '72 Eldo. It shifts fine when cold and just warming up but if it has been running for a while (about 1/2 hour and longer), it tends not to disengage completely when at a stop. The engine rpms will slowly drop until it stalls out and if I didn't have the brake on, it would tend to lurch forward. And when taking off from a stop (if I hold the throttle open just a bit), it tends to lunge forward which doesn't make for a smooth takeoff. I've heard of the clutch hub splines getting all beat up to the point where the clutch doesn't disengage (or is that "doesn't engage") but I thought that this happened all the time not just every now and then. When I had the tranny out (along with the engine) about 2 years ago to replace some very leaky tranny seals, the hub didn't look in all that bad of shape, so I left it in. Any ideas of what might be happening?
