A word of warning regarding the Packard 440 wires and
accessories from MI. I bought those a month or so ago,
and the screw-on ends are not nearly as good as the
soldered-on ends that loopframes came with from the
factory. I took the ends off my old wires and soldered
them on to the new ones. I recommend that whoever is
buying new ones not buy the screw-on ones, but re-use
the old ones instead. Also, the boots for the
distributor cap that MI supplies are too big. Dave
said the snug-fitting ones are no longer available. If
you force your old boots onto the thicker 440 wires
they will probably split, so you must carefully
enlarge the holes in the boots first.
