Yeah...I was noticing today that by rolling the bike back a bit it seems to
fall into gear nicely. As you said...one of those Guzzi oddities to keep you
smiling.
I cleaned out my carbs today and the bike runs much better. I am off for a
100 mile jaunt tomorrow.....should be a hoot :-)

I got a book with every Guzzi magazine article from 1947-1975 in it. The jumping out of first happened to ALL of the testers of all the loop frame bikes! Evidently its just a Guzzidiosyncrasy. Mine does it too (actually mine acts like I never put it into gear). I have noticed that rolling the bike backward slightly after engaging 1st (with the clutch disengaged of course) helps this a bit.
