I'm thinking that too, if a sleeve could be had to fit both the cylinder
and piston, and the pin position is ok, a rod end bushing could be made to
fit the piston pis and there ya go, from what I remember from my Chevy
building days, the bore of a 283 is about 3 3/4 inches, a 83 mm equates to
about 3 1/8 inches I think, have to do some calculating. The best part is
if this would work, you can buy forged Chevy piston/ring kits for about
$100.00 that would be enough to do 4 Guzzi engines.
