John,

Put a one inch section of PVC pipe into the shock as a spacer to preload the
wimpy spring. Mine's got that and it stiffened it up quite a bit. It
doesn't squat so much on left handers. My original Velo shock was really
wimpy, so I asked the question you asked on teh sidecar list and some guy in
Texas sold me the Velo shock complete with spacer that I have on mine now,
for something like $20. I've heard Koni makes (made?) a shock for the
Velorex, but have never seen one. I suppose it's just a short motorcycle
shock that happens to fit. Trouble is, then you'd have to buy a pair. Ask
the sidecar list. Also, I've seen people do modifications to the Velo's
swingarm to enable the use of any shock - I guess they just move the shock
mount around, don't know.

No Moon tonight, I caught a sore throat last night, noticed it during my
second liter of Black Bavarian at the Come Back Inn, this morning it was a
raging sore throat, and now I'm feeling beat, so I think tonight I'll rest.
Chris and I are needing another dose of the Moon though, so maybe next week.

Since you've apparently got access to a scanner now, let's see the wedding
picture.

Gordon

Does anyone know if they make a stiffer/heavier duty shock absorber for
a Velorex 562? Or any motorcycle shock that will swap? Mine seems to
bottom easier than I think it should or did when I first put it on.
