While I have never had wobble problems with any of my bikes, I can relate a
couple of instances of what I considered instability.
Once with my 74 949 Eldo solo, laden with gear, now a sidecar setup. It has,
(some of the year anyways), a monster DB fairing on it. It is like riding
behind a barn door. On an interstate out in W. Va, at around 85 it started
getting light in the front end. It seemed like I was acctually getting lift
from the fairing on the front end.
With my 74 CHP, stock with the Code 3 lexan police windshield, again up
around 85 it starts feeling like a runaway barge in any kind of twisties.
The bike is kind of ass heavy with the Unitrol siren in the one bag, and
it's corresponding slab of steel counterweight bolted to the other bag.
Never any wobble or tank slapping, but enough to know to slow down.
