Hi Rick,

How's the heat in Fl? :-)

Sure, send me the other serial number.....remind me which was which though.
It appears that the V700's had different engine and frame numbers. Many of
the V700's I have on the list are like that.

That seemed to be the norm in those days but was stopped by the time the
Ambos came out in 69. The reason specualted is that they had different
production departments and they just put the engine available into the frame
that was there at the time. There is also a thought that there were some
defective engines that needed to be replaced.

As for the "rare" Ambos. When they came out with the first Ambos they were
essentially V700's with 750 bore cylinders but pretty much everything else
was the same as the 700. Different pin striping though. If you have Greg
Field's book (which I highly recommend for the book shelf) there is a
picture of one on P28 I believe.

These bikes are identified by the letter "A" in front of the 5 digit serial
number. My bike is A12147. All the "A series" bikes were in the 12xxx range.

 Ian,
Do you want the serial numbers off the Motors as well for your list?
Also
what is a "A series Ambassador" and how do you tell if you have one?
