I never have problems with oil presure on my engines, I fill up the oil and set
the timing, static first and then turn it over with the starter and a timing
light, (no spark plugs), the engine turns freely and the oil pumps, you can pop
a valve cover and see the oil flow, if you don't see the oil oozing out the
rocker shafts, you have a problem, but if you assembled all correctly, it will
pump oil real quick, and you will be assured things are ok. When the timing is
set to specs, put in some plugs and fire her up.

Get the insides good and wet before putting power through the bearings. The engine will probably have to pump quite a bit of oil before filling the filter and oil galleys. And as I just wrote that I can't remember if the Ambo even has a filter, so your pump time maybe a bit less, but lots oil in the right places is good!
