So, this is the cyber clubhouse. I guess Dave's webpage is going to be
our newsletter. I took some high 8 video of my restoration and will
convert to jpeg shortly. If things come out nice I will send them to
Dave for posting.
My bike is actually more of a custom than a restoration. it is made up
of the leftovers from parts bikes I accumulated over the years. A
complete return to stock would have been very expensive so I have
altered and hopefully improved where I could.
You can read the details with the pictures when they appear but I have a
few specific questions for the group:
Turn signals: Lacking a source for NOS I have been using the cheap
Taiwanese Lucas copies. I don't mind the looks and I cut down the stems
and rethread them for metric. Problem? My bike lacks the essential
rear bracket/license plate holder and there are none for sale that I
have seen. If someone has an old one to loan I can get copies made in
stainless. It's really a simple thing.
Wrinkle paint: I had good looking results with P&J before. Last time
out I used Krylon and it seemed a bit soft. The Harley store is
expecting more of their secret receipe so I live and hope. Please share
your experiences.
Gold Decals: Dave (Goldfinger) Otis put gold eagles on the tank he
painted for me. Is there a matching eldorado script that goes with
this? I have only seen black and white.
Ooops, lunch is ready so I gotta go. NYC is the place to be, I have
seen all types of Guzzis on the move from Eldos to the latest models.
Ciao,
David
