I agree the vibration is normal, i run the HD antivibration boards, I buy
them at J.C. Whitney, the only modifacation that is necesary is to cut one
side of the mount off underneath the board on each side, this is necesary
because the mounts are furthur apart on the Harley boards.
 
Since the floorboards are rigid mounted and all you have to insulate the
vibration of the road and motor is a 1/8 inch piece of rubber, yes it sounds
normal to me. Since the boards are actually Harley-Davidson, you have
another
 option. HD came out with an anti-vibration floorboard in the late 70's-early
80's. The boards are the same size as the old type but have little rubber
cushions between the pad and board. The HD OEM number is 50603-74TA. You
should
 be able to get them from any HD dealer, but you would save money buying
them on
 the after market from J-P Cycles or USA Twins.
