I never had expected that there are completely different versions of clutch operating levers on four-speed transmissions. And not only the seat for the actuation bolt varies (hole of 6 mm vs. thread 8 mm × 1 mm, which is a metric fine thread), they also differ in length, with the result that they are not interchangeable:

This picture shows the later version (above) and the earlier on the same pivot bolt. You can see clearly the all-in-all length is identical but the SECTIONS are different. The earlier lever is taken from my 1968 V700 gearbox.
