The little bolt that secures the electrical wire from the condenser to the ignition points MUST be insulated from the body of the distributor. The insulating plastic pieces can be purchased new from MrFiat. Fiat part numbers 9903328 and 9909362. Mr. Fiat part number: EI-500-073. Thanks to Michael Baker for sending me this information via email.

Prior to the parts being found at MrFiat.com (above), DIY solutions were your best bet.

Thanks to Miguel Balaguero for posting this information on the old Yahoo! Loopframe_Guzzi news group (which has now moved to Groups.io).

Looking for a source for Magneti Marelli distributor parts...specifically the plastic insulating piece that goes on the inside of the distributor where the points attach. See first picture.

Or is anyone making them out of HDPE?

After calming down a little I took another look around and found some UHMW polyethylene and made my own insulator.

...use UHMW instead of HDPE...yes, a plastic soda bottle wouldn't bee the best...I did get a couple of old plastic credit card type cards and cut one up as a template.
