I am by no means finished with the yard.
Click on an image to enlarge it.
The north side back yard with Impatiens.
A little further down the north side fence, Wisteria and Ligustrums with Persian Ironwood trees.
More of the same.
Looking straight back from the patio to the raised planter with statue. flowers etc..
And a view to the right (south).
The patio I added a few months ago.
And a step I added last week.
Believe it or not, this is a cover for the 6-inch drain system necessary
to cover the water from the lots up the hill from us.
Some nice red Mandevillas too.
Looking northward across the upper garden. Last year's big project
There's a reson why my first gardening tool in Kentucky was a jackhammer...
The side yard or "Concrete Swamp" - no drainage and this side.
of the house is below grade with a very solid ledge of limestone
There is always 2-3 inches of water below the concrete paving stones.
Fortunately, mosquitos aren't capable of penetrating throught the gravel
and paving stones or we would have a very miserable time when outside.
Looking back down the south side of the lot. Albino Redbud tree at the front.
The front of the house all gussied up for Fall.
The sundial I bought in Denmark was at one of our houses a long time ago
and then languished in a box for 22 years. Good to see it again.
And the view down the side of the house on the north side.
Gravel garden removes the necessity to mow and edge around utility stuff.
Eastern Rebud tree in front.
You can make out the boarded up windows from the hail damage on 25 June, 2023.
