Technical drawings
Updated: Nov 12, 2008
This information and the photos are from an eBay auction.
Here is your chance to own a part of Moto Guzzi History, a Engineer's drawing of the famous V7 90° Twin Motor.
This measures an impressive 1974 mm long x 843 mm wide. It is dated 1964 in the identification panel (bottom right). From research I belive this is the last engine approved by Carlo Guzzi as he past away also in that year.
I belive this to be a rare piece of history from Moto Guzzi. I have tried to find out more about this but there is little information that i could confirm. This could possibly be a workshop drawing / engineers drawing from one of the legendary design people at Moto Guzzi. This may have been brought over here by Ken Kavanagh or Jack Finding but I cannot confirm this. This could be a prototype drawing of this engine before it's release, it is a stiff/heavy paper that could have been from a carbon drawing but I am not 100% of that either.
I have not been able to confirm much about this rare item and would welcome any information offered. It is in excellent condition for it's age there are no rips and the edges are great. Tt has shading marks from the ink or from carbon ? and a small stain (very minor). This has been stored rolled away in a tube keeping it in such good condition.

V700 Italian Police Models

Thanks to Ralf Brinkmann who posted these photos on the Yahoo! Loopframe_Guzzi news group. In Ralf's own words:
The V7-700 was built up to 1977. The model always benefits from some design changes in the model history, e.g.:
- Waffle iron engine case
- Deep sump rear drive housing
- Cylinder heads from cast blanks like 850T
- 850 GT/California drum brake

V700s manufactured in 1975/1976
Updated: Nov 12, 2008
Thanks to Tom Short and Moe Moore from Cycle Garden for sending me this information in a private email.
Tom short:
Per our discussion at John's [80th birthday party], here are my pics of a 1975 V700 I took in Germany.
The story I got from the owner was, 200 were built for export to the Argentinean Police. They refused them because the new 850T was out, and they wanted those instead. An Italian Guzzi shop purchased all the bikes from Guzzi, stripped them down and painted them orange. You can see in the pics that the block is ribbed like an 850, but I cannot tell and don't remember if it has a 4LS front brake.
Moe Moore from Cycle Garden:
Those are just like the ones I saw in Holland, Dated 1976, they where white and had the Euro buddy seat on them.
